ORDERING

My paddles cost $600 for any kayak paddle (less expensive than a Backlund Super or New World paddle!) and $300 for any single bladed paddle.  They take 5-8 weeks to complete from the time I receive your deposit. Striding paddles cost $700.  Break down striders cost $730.

Shipping and handling costs $30 for orders shipped east of the Mississippi and $35 for orders shipped west of the Mississippi.

Ordering your custom RivrStyk takes only three easy steps:

1. Shape:

Choose a blade design~ This choice is based on what you will use the paddle for- racing, big water cruising, squirt boating, or rodeo etc.    You can find your choices here: Blade Shapes .   Also decide what length would work best for your needs.   This is most often based on your experience with other paddles.   I’m available any time for consulting before 9 pm EST. 1-304-329-3310

2. Particulars:

Decide how heavy duty you want to go-  this determines the robustness of the paddle and also the swing weight.  You can also pick your Blade Styles to be in line with how heavy duty or light you want your paddle.  You can also decide on light or dark veneers- or even specific veneers for the tips.  If you want a super beautiful paddle consider the Gift Veneers from Taiki Sugawara.  Also consider if you’d like me to include a special saying or your phone number inscribed under the fiberglass on the blade.

3. Mail Your Hand Tracing:

For custom sizing, print off and fill out the Order Form and include it with a tracing of your hand on the back and a deposit for 50% of the paddle’s cost.    Then mail it to me at:

A check is fine but if you want, PayPal is also an available payment option. About a week before your paddle is done I will contact you and you can send the balance due and shipping charges.   Then I will ship it US Priority Mail.  It usually takes 5-8 weeks for me to complete an order from the time I receive the deposit.

Please Note! Because of time constraints due to my kayak design career I am limited to only making 50 RivrStyx in any given year. It can sometimes take 8-10 weeks to get a paddle if I am very busy. If you have a specific “must have” due date- be sure to let me know.

“I bought my S.O.Terrik in Sept 2000 and still use it as my primary paddle. I used to run through a paddle every other year, but haven't needed to buy another since I got the Jimistyx. I absolutely love the paddle as the custom sized shaft is perfect for my small hands ensuring I don't get wrist or elbow problems. The flex in the shaft is just enough to minimize impact at the shoulder. The small blades with the peanut shape ensure quick release when I need to get ready for the next stroke. The smaller blades also helped improve my roll as I depend very little on the purchase offered by a larger blade.

Needless to say it is highly unlikely that I will ever go back to a synthetic paddle.

8 years and 2 minor refinishes later, the paddle is still in great shape - it's also a definite conversation starter as on every river trip, people ask about the paddle and ask to touch and feel it.

Beyond doubt, these are the best paddles in the world ! (Maybe I should get another one for a spare :-)”

Regards,

   Vasu
